MOTB Round Peacock Glass Ornament

The 4" Round Peacock Glass Ornament

Bold and picturesque, this vibrant peacock ornament features the trendy shades of blue, green and gold. Brilliantly colored peacocks have been used to decorate Esther scrolls from the Hebrew Bible. The book of Esther never uses the name of God or refers to God, thus it has become the one book of the Bible that Jews ornament and illustrate. Peacocks and their glorious plumage also adorn and illuminate the margins of various Christian manuscripts and embellish sarcophagi (stone coffins).

What Does The Peacock Symbolize In The Bible?

The peacock is an ancient symbol of immortality, and from the third century AD on the peacock became a symbol among Christians of the resurrection and eternal life.

it is beautiful & I have put it away in anticipation of giving it as a gift next Christmas - if I don't decide to keep it myself!

This is a very unique ornament. The peacock body and head stand out from the circle of the tail. The detail is very neat and the colors are lovely.

I especially like that the box has the story of the peacock as a symbol in Christianity.
