MOTB silk neck tie with calligraphy image and texts from a 16th-century German Bible translated by Martin Luther

Psalter Calligraphy Neck Tie

The design on this elegant silk neck tie reproduces the calligraphy of a sixteenth-century German psalter from our Museum Collections. The text is printed as a mirror image, so it appears backwards. The calligraphy was created in 1592 by Johannes Kirchring the Elder, one of the greatest calligraphers of the time. The German text is translation by Martin Luther. The tie features John 3:16–17, the Ten Commandments, the Apostles’ Creed, and an excerpt from the book of Psalms.

Tie Size & Fabric

The Psalter Calligraphy Neck Tie measures 3.5 inches wide and 60 inches long.  It weighs just 6.72 ounces. Made from 100% silk, it is weighted and designed for the perfect knot.

How To Clean Your 100% Silk Tie

We recommend dry cleaning only.

This beautiful tie I purchased fir a Christmas gift for my employer. It is a lovely tie. I saw it briefly before I wrapped it. I saw him today and he and his wife really liked it. A very nice gift worth the price. It will be a blessing to give and receive.

I received this tie as a present from my wife back when the Bible museum was traveling in LA area. I get more comments on this tie than any other that I own. Everyone loves it including me.
